ZORROMeet Zorro. Zorro is a one year old Border Collie. I've only had this handsome guy with me for a week now and already he's turning tails. He's very affectionate and loves to be with people. Zorro is very well mannered. So far, he's not a barker. Zorro loves to sit outside with me and watch while I'm working in the yard. Other humans with their dogs walk by and he just watches. He knows sit, stay and his recall is pretty good. He is house trained and does very well in his crate. Zorro has been kid tested on my five year old grandson and he's a very gentle boy. He is curious about our cats but leaves them alone. And so far he has gotten along fine with my own dogs. Zorro is a real lover puppy. He's one of the most beautiful Borders I've seen. His markings are stunning. He's intelligent and I think he would love agility. Unfortunately, Zorro is heart worm positive. Our doggie Doc did a thorough check up and feels this handsome boy will recover without a hitch. He is a bit thin so treatment starts in a couple weeks. Treatment will probably take several weeks. Depending on how he does. I promised Zorro that once he's healthy I'd find a wonderful forever family for him. |

STARBUCKHi. My name is Starbuck. The vet says I'm right around 1 year old. I can handle that. Foster mom says......it's okay to be a little younger. I'm a good natured kind of guy. I love being around everyone. I'm up to date on all of my shots and I'm heart worm negative. Thank goodness because I know the heart worm treatment is very ruff on us dogs. I'm neutered now, too. So I'm very healthy and ready to start interviewing for my forever home. I have some requirements, please read below:

SUZETTEMy name is Suzy and I am back in foster care. I was adopted by a family and only after 3 weeks they decided I didn't work for their needs. They wanted me to be a therapy dog, but I wouldn't get along with new dogs very well. Foster mom and dad have been working with me a lot on this and I am getting better. They bring me to the dog park to meet new dogs. If I try to behave myself, they give me a treat! At first I didn't get that many treats, but I started to figure it out. I am still not perfect but with time and effort I will be just awesome! I love Rodeo and Cinder my foster brother and sister. I have no issues with them. I just don't like when dogs I don't know get in my grill! I am very happy to be back with foster mom and dad. I am having fun running all over the place with my Border Buddies and life is good! There really aren't many dull moments around here. Our backyard is like a park, so I have fun chasing rabbits and other little critters. I love being outside. I also love going for walks! I am a very easy going dog. I like to lie around the house. Relaxing is my favorite job! Of course, I do get really exited about going outside, for walks, and for car rides! I also love breakfast and dinner! I am a low energy border collie. I am great with human pets of all ages. I am also good with dogs, when given the chance to get to know them. Like I said, mom and dad have been really working hard with me and I think I am starting to understand. Of course, practice makes perfect. JIGMeet Jig , she's approximately six months old and has her whole life ahead of her. We don't know much about her history, other than she and her brother Dash were at an animal control facility and they were on borrowed time. She seems to be a bit hand shy at first, and tries to hide when long handled things like brooms and shovels are picked up. Luckily her curiosity usually gets the best of her and she's willing to investigate. She is good with kids and especially enjoys the company of another dog in the house. She's a rough and tumble gal with other dogs, she loves to chase and be chased and runs with a smile on her face. She'll need more socialization around people but she's young and will learn quickly. She loves to be scratched behind her ears and although timid at first she is getting better in only a few weeks. This gal LOVES to go for walks around the neighborhood. She doesn't pull and is a very nice walking companion. She is a bit clownish- when she came into us as a foster she didn't like her crate at all and cried the first night. Now she has to be coaxed to come out of it- she puts her favorite toys in there and sleeps like a baby through the night. Due to her her less than pleasant past she will need a person (or family) who can make the commitment of time, patience and structure that she will need to fully learn to trust people again. She promises it will be worth your while. |

DASHDash and his sister Jig have very little known history prior to entering the shelter. They appear to be about 6 months old. Dash is definitely the more adventurous of the two. As he spends more time in my home, his lovable personality is starting to emerge. He soaks up every bit of attention we are willing to lavish upon him. He has gotten along with everyone: canine, kids, and adults. He is not completely house trained, but has only had one accident since coming here, he will need a home that will continue this training. He is anxious to please and treat motivated so with an obedience class he should make an excellent pet. At this point I am not seeing high energy levels, but he has not been in my house long enough for this to be an accurate determination. Dash's most unusual characteristic is that he has one pale blue eye, and one brown eye. He loves to be petted and easily rolls over for a belly rub. So if you have lots of love to give Dash will make a great addition to your home. |
